NOW HIRING FOR SPRING 2017!

We’re looking for experienced beer professionals and bartenders to join our growing team!

We currently have a beertender position open. Daytime and evening availability is required, and weekend (Saturday or Sunday) shifts will be required. This position offers a great opportunity to expand your beer knowledge while getting to know the local beer-loving community. There is also the potential for growth in this position, as The Glass Jug continues to expand.

Responsibilities:

This position involves serving beer, filling growlers using our counter-pressure filling system, helping customers find the perfect bottles and cans to take home, and making everyone feel welcome and comfortable. Bartenders may also be called upon to assist with inventory management, changing kegs, general cleaning, and re-stocking.

This position will be responsible for opening and closing duties, as well as draft line cleaning on a rotating basis (approximately once every 10-12 weeks).

Qualifications:

All applicants are expected to have a working knowledge and understanding of a wide variety of beer styles, the ability to communicate that knowledge with customers, previous restaurant, bar, or related retail experience, and a proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and learn quickly on the job. Applicants who have passed the Certified Beer Server exam at cicerone.org are at an advantage.

Applicants must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds regularly, and will need to move full kegs (160 lbs) short distances with the assistance of a hand truck.

Schedule:

The schedule is flexible, but will be a minimum of 3 shifts a week, including afternoon and evening shifts during the week and Saturday or Sunday evening shifts.

Pay will be hourly, competitive, and based on experience. Employees also split tips at the end of each shift. Incentives include an employee appreciation event 1-2 times a year, the ability to brew collaboration beers with local breweries, and an annual Christmas party. Other bonuses and incentives are based on tenure and performance.
