As Def Leppard sang, it's wisteria when you're near! Although it's beautiful, sadly, there is a significant amount of invasive wisteria growing in the wetlands behind our beer garden. Local ecological champion Pete Schubert, will be on hand to teach us to identify and remove this invasive species, so the wetlands can maintain their otherwise great variety of native plants.
Pete will teach volunteers how to physically remove the vines and how to "paint" the plants with herbicide to eradicate invasive plants without hurting native ones.
Volunteers must be 18+ to work with herbicide and sharp tools. Volunteers under 18 are still highly encouraged to participate in the volunteer day to help with trash pickup.
