We talk a lot about wanting to play a role in our community, and that's more than just a marketing pitch. While it is great for business if our customers feel connected to our store and that The Glass Jug is playing an active role in the community, we also need to put our money where our mouth is. Throughout the year, we donate and sponsor several local charitable organizations. This includes our sponsorship of the Team on Draft cycling team that raised a total of over $125k for the National MS Society.
Around the end of the year, we like to find a local charity that is in need and use our resources (mainly good beer and our connections to the breweries who make it) to pull in support for the organization. Last year, our customers donated a truckload of toys to Toys-for-Tots as part of our Festivus event, which was a huge success.
This year, we're partnering with Haw River Farmhouse Ales to raise money and donations for The Ronald McDonald House of Chapel Hill. Each year, The Ronald McDonald House of Chapel Hill provides more than 2,200 families with seriously ill or injured children the basic necessities and comforts of home so that they can focus on caring for a sick child.
We're doing this through our 12 Days of Beermas event.

If you bring in a $5 donation, or an item from the Ronald McDonald Wish List (below), you'll get a raffle ticket. Bring in more money or more items, and get even more raffle tickets. Each day, we'll draw a winner, who will take home one of the 12 prizes.
The 12 Days of Beermas runs until 12/14, and it's a new raffle each day, so come by early and often to increase your chances of winning.
Lastly, once we reach a total of 400 raffle tickets, we'll be tapping a cask of Belgian Chocolate Rye Stout from Haw River that has been aged on Grand Marnier-soaked oak chips and orange zest. Trust us, you really want to unlock this cask!
All that said, it's not about the prizes. It's about making an impact on a great organization. We're just here to facilitate and encourage, bringing people together toward a common goal (all while enjoying some tasty beverages). So, swing by sometime this week and make a donation.
