The Glass Jug Beer Lab has a lot to celebrate as they wrap up their fourth full year in business. This year has seen the launch of a rebrand, a move into a bigger space, and the addition of an on-site brewery and beer garden.
To commemorate the occasion, The Jug is hosting an Oktoberfest-themed celebration all day on Saturday, September 15, 2018. The party is complete with live music, food trucks, and lots of great limited-release and small-batch brews from The Glass Jug.
The Mad Popper will be popping fresh kettle corn from 1-5pm and it will be their first kettle pop of the season. Additionally, Valentino's Food Truck will be on site from 4-8pm with a special German-themed menu just for the occasion.
Tom Neuhauser will kick off the music at 4pm, donning his lederhosen and an accordion, to set the mood for the Oktoberfest event. At 6:30, Into The Fog will take the stage, performing a set of folk-inspired bluegrass until 9pm.
The Glass Jug Beer Lab will be serving many new beers, some of which are single keg pilot-batches that will be released at various times throughout the day. One beer of special note is a collaboration brew between The Glass Jug and Hi-Wire Brewing. Hi-Wire is set to open a taproom in Durham later this fall, so the two breweries got together to brew a "Birthday Cake" stout with strawberry, vanilla, coconut, and hazelnut. The beer will be on draft all day at the party.
There will be a beer ticket system in place. Attendance to the party is free, and you can purchase beer tickets for $5 each, then exchange your tickets at the bar or at the outdoor beer tent for 10-ounce pours of all of the specialty beers on draft.
