We just announced the 4th iteration of our annual sour and wild beer festival with our friends at Sam's Bottle Shop and we are pretty excited about this year's event (which is happening on June 22nd and 23rd)!

Why are we excited, you ask?

For starters, we'll be releasing a new beer that will debut at the event. And, not just any beer. This is the beer that was brewed with Eric Boren, the winner of last fall's barrel-aged homebrew competition. "Brett on the Beach" is the sister beer to our recently-released "Brett in the Wood." It's a 100% brett-fermented saison that has been dry-hopped and aged in a rum barrel from Fair Game Beverage in Pittsboro.

Our half of the event is happening on Saturday, June 23rd, and we'll be tapping Brett on the Beach, along with Brett in the Wood and Pink Guava Pi, two other wild/sour beers we made right here at The Jug. And, of course, we'll have a killer lineup of another 9 wild/sour beers from some of our favorite local and international breweries.

But wait, there's more!

We're going to have live music from 4-7pm during the event on Saturday. This is part of our weekly "Beer Garden Jam Session" series that happens every Saturday in the summer. Additionally, we're looking to have a food vendor set up in the beer garden to provide some delicious eats for you while you enjoy your funky brews.

Of course, our friends over at Sam's Bottle Shop are also bringing their A-game. They're taking day 1 of the event and hosting a sour beer tap takeover at the Bottle Shop on Friday, 6/22, and will be featuring at least 9 different wild/sour beers on draft and available in flights. They are also in the process of booking a food truck because we all know you need some grub to go with those tart beers!
