Every good beer store offers free tastings every so often, but not every beer store has a knitting and crafts club or women-only beer education and social events. It is things like this that make The Glass Jug different. We're really proud of our fun and unique events, and we hope to continue expanding our selection of events throughout the year. Below is a listing of our events that happen on a recurring basis every month. We hope you'll join us for one (or more) of them, next time you are able.
Purling Pints - Knitting and Craft Club When: Second & Fourth Sundays, 4-6pm What: A group of knitters and crafters of all skill levels get together to work on their latest creations, while enjoying a few good beers. No experience required, and beginners are welcome. Come share ideas, techniques, and good conversation, twice a month. More Info >
JUGs (Just Us Gals) Events When: Last Tuesday of the Month, 6:30-8pm What: A monthly social gathering that starts with a short beer education program. Learn a little about a new beer style or the history of brewing in a certain region, or how to pair beer and food, all while tasting some great beers and discussing with other ladies. There is usually a cost for these events, but we also typically provide a selection of beer samples and light snacks. Guys are welcome to the store during these events, though the event itself is just for the ladies. More Info >
Brewery of the Month Kickoff Events When: First Thursday of the Month What: Each month, we will feature a different NC brewery, placing two of their beers on draft all month. And on the first Thursday of the month, we'll get things kicked off with a big event. The specifics of the event change from month-to-month, sometimes a tap takeover, sometimes a cask, maybe a new beer release, but it's always a lot of fun and a chance to try some great beer for free! We have some other monthly events that are still in the works or that we will debut later this year, such as a weekly bike ride and/or run club. Additionally, if you are interested in spearheading any regular events or meetings at The Glass Jug, you're welcome to do so. Maybe you want to start a bi-weekly chess tournament, or a monthly poetry sharing meeting - whatever suits your fancy is just fine with us.
