Celebrating 10 Years at The Glass Jug

Celebrating 10 Years at The Glass Jug

September 2024 marks 10 years since our we opened our doors in September 2014. 10 years have taken us from a small craft beer bottle shop to a multi-location brewery taproom, beer garden, and one of the largest retail beverage shops in the triangle. It’s been a crazy ride, and we have a lot of events planned throughout the week to celebrate this momentous occasion.

The Glass Jug Named a 2016 Retailer of the Year

Charlotte, NC (April 20, 2016) – The Glass Jug of Durham was recognized as a 2016 Retailer of the Year, one of four leading retail businesses to receive the honor from the North Carolina Retail Merchants Association (NCRMA). The awards were presented during NCRMA’s Annual Retailer of Year awards luncheon at the Charlotte City Club. The Glass Jug, a retail craft beer store in Durham, is owned by Chris and Katy Creech. They were named as award winners in recognition of their role as not just part of the craft beer movement that’s taken North Carolina by storm in recent years, but for being at its forefront.

Check out our ongoing monthly events!

Every good beer store offers free tastings every so often, but not every beer store has a knitting and crafts club or women-only beer education and social events. It is things like this that make The Glass Jug different. We're really proud of our fun and unique events, and we hope to continue expanding our selection of events throughout the year. Below is a listing of our events that happen on a recurring basis every month. We hope you'll join us for one (or more) of them, next time you are able.

A Very Ginger Brew Day

Over the past few weeks, we've teased about the awesome beer line-up we're going to have for our opening week, but we haven't really told you much about it.  So, let's pull back the curtain a bit and let you know what we've been up to. One of the things that is really important to us is supporting and promoting the fantastic beer that is being brewed right here in North Carolina.  We have several events in the works that will help us do this over time.  But we really wanted to do something special for the grand opening.
