Oktoberfest Returns to Downtown Durham

For the third consecutive year, The Glass Jug Beer Lab is bringing Oktoberfest to the heart of the Bull City with a community-wide celebration at Durham Central Park on Saturday, September 21st.

This fun, inclusive, and family-friendly event is free and open to everyone. Consider bringing a lawn chair or picnic blanket to enjoy your Festbier and pretzels in the park, as limited seating will be available.

Gary’s Oom-Pah Band will headline the stage in the park, all while fun and free activities for the whole family take place throughout the celebration.

A bounce house will be provided by Bull City Inflatables, along with family-friendly activities hosted by the Museum of Life & Science. There will be a cornhole tournament hosted by Foster on the Park, and a stein hoisting competition led by Courage Fitness Durham.

There will be an art vendor market organized by Cecy’s Gallery, and we’ll close out the night with a silent disco provided by the Durham YMCA.

Of course, The Glass Jug mobile beer trailer will be in the park serving up liters of lagers and ales for your enjoyment, along with fresh soft pretzels from Chef Chick’s Bakery. The full list of wine, cider, cocktails, and non-alcoholic beverages can be purchased in the taproom and enjoyed in the park throughout the event.

This year’s Festbier will be the highlight of the show, along with a new Hefeweizen collaboration beer brewed in partnership with Atomic Clock Brewing, which is also hosting Oktoberfest festivities at their taproom around the block on 9/21.

Make plans to celebrate the fall season with Oktoberfest at Durham Central Park on Saturday, September 7th!
